Last week, the ÖGR Austrian Society for Rheology held its 3rd Annual Conference at the Parkhotel Schönbrunn in Vienna – the former guest house of the emperor – attracting experts and researchers from across the field to discuss the latest advances in rheology.

Our scientist, Dr. Timea Varadi, attended the conference, sharing insights into her research on the rheological properties of surgical materials, with a focus on developing a lab-produced lubricant that mimics the friction-reducing properties of human body fluids.

This research offers a promising approach to the development of synthetic lubricants for implant stability testing, emphasizing the importance of accurately mimicking rheological properties. Her findings highlight the potential for laboratory-produced lubricants to replace human body fluids in medical testing, marking a significant advance for medical technology.

We want to thank Anton Paar, for sponsoring this conference!
