The planned joint activities are aimed at improving the public and political awareness of tribology. In addition to joint events, the compilation of position papers is also under discussion, in which tribology is seen as a key factor in industrial solutions. Here, we refer to the recently published GfT position paper on “White Etching Cracks”

To lend weight to this cooperation, mutual membership of GfT and ÖTG was agreed. This year’s 65th annual conference of the GfT was also “weighty”. As a new member, the ÖTG took this as an opportunity to address greetings to the GfT, which were delivered by Prof. Carsten Gachot, Vice President of the ÖTG.
